BIOGRAPHY
I was born in İzmir and completed my medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, Ege University, in 1989. My mandatory service was conducted in Niğde. In 1997, I concluded my specialty training in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University, whereupon I initiated and completed my subspecialty training in Algology, the science of pain management, at the same institution. Between 2000 and 2005, I served as the Chief Assistant in the Pain Unit at the Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. In 2004, I had the privilege of engaging in a year-long fellowship in the Department of Pain Management at the University of Louisville and the James Brown Cancer Center. I ascended to the rank of associate professor in 2005. From 2005 to 2012, I functioned as the Clinical Head at the Samatya Training and Research Hospital, İstanbul EAH. In 2012, I was appointed as a professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. Following my retirement from Istanbul University in 2017, I continued my academic and clinical pursuits at the Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul Bilim University. I am currently attending to patients in my private practice. My scholarly contributions include numerous domestic and international articles and research projects. Additionally, I am an active member and speaker at conferences for various national and international societies dedicated to the science of pain.
My skills were honed through dedicated service; I worked as the Chief Assistant in the Pain Unit at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital from 2000 to 2005. In 2004, I further enriched my expertise during a year-long fellowship at the University of Louisville’s Pain Science Department and at the James Brown Cancer Center. My academic and professional achievements were recognized in 2005 when I was appointed as an associate professor. I continued my career as a Clinical Chief at Samatya (Istanbul EAH) Training and Research Hospital until 2012 when I became a professor at Istanbul Medical Faculty’s Anesthesiology and Reanimation Department.
After retiring from Istanbul University in 2017, I have been contributing my vast experience to the Istanbul Science University Medical Faculty’s Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation. Currently, I continue to serve patients at my private practice. My contributions to the field of pain science extend to numerous national and international articles and research papers. I am an active member and speaker at various pain science associations around the world, reflecting my commitment to the advancement of care in Algology.
